2013 has been a big year for video gaming, with some record breaking titles released. With some red hot titles in the running, it comes as no surprise that the race for the Christmas best seller is fiercer than ever. Let’s take a look at some of the games that Santa should be stocking up on this year:
It’s all kicking off
Fifa 2014 had massive footy boots to fill after the reception to the 2013 version, which upped the ante considerably from previous releases. After over 20 years of producing games, you’d think they would have ironed out the creases, and guess what, they have. Although they have largely gone with the ‘if it ain’t broke’ attitude, the small changes made are good ones. The fantastic range of immensely playable games modes still exist, but the new shooting options gives players the power to unleash some dipping volleys and scooped shots dug out of feet and other variations. If you’re lucky enough to have some mates, then Ultimate Team Mode is better than ever. FIFA’s odds are looking pretty good at 4/1.
Surely it’s a steal
GTA V went on sale back in September and many girls have barely seen their other half since. With rave reviews, the game managed to outdo itself and is the most ambitious game Rockstar have ever created. Pinching cars and being a gangster has never been more fun. Players get to immerse themselves into a world far bigger than before, incorporating new elements golf and tennis, ultimate thrill seekers get to jump out of a plane and parachute over the city. The game was so sought after in the U.K, one unlucky fan beaten up for his copy on the way back from the shops – talk about life imitating art. Some may argue that as the bestselling entertainment product ever, surely everyone has it already, but they’d be wrong. Odds are at 6/1.
This means war
Call of Duty: Ghosts is another highly anticipated, relationship wrecking title. This latest in the series has made significant improvements in the multiplayer modes, with a variety of modes which offer players variety, longevity and more importantly, a challenge. The option to customize your character is another welcome change, the personal touch adding to the already addictive recipe. Call of Duty looks set to beat its rivals with odds of 1/5 according to Ladbrokes. May the battle commence!
